Orbit Platform Redesign
Six-month product design engagement for Farmers Insurance: a new version of the Orbit workspace platform, designed with Claude and Figma Make and shipped successfully.

The problem
Orbit is a platform where teams manage their internal workspaces and projects. The new version had to bring everything together: every work item in one place, a more precise and consistent way to create work items with an AI agent, and an integration with TMD.
The experience had to be clear enough for everyday work, and flexible enough to support the AI-driven workflows the platform was built around.
My role
Over six months, I designed the full experience of the new Orbit version. My work included the user flows, a new design system, navigation, AI agent touchpoints, configuration, work item screens, AI transcript summaries, knowledge bases, system notifications, the dashboard, and export and import flows.
I also took part in the validation and feedback sessions with the wider team, refining the design based on what we learned.
Tools: Claude and Figma Make, used throughout the project to move from ideas to working designs.
The approach
AI-assisted design
I used Claude and Figma Make to explore and build designs quickly, keeping each decision tied to the platform’s goals. This let the team test more ideas in less time without losing focus on quality.
Design system and navigation
Screnshot of the first version of the new design system
I created a new design system and a clearer navigation, so people could move between workspaces, projects and work items with confidence.
AI agent touchpoints
Screen for AI agent communication
I designed where and how users interact with the AI agent to generate work items, making the process more precise and consistent for the team.
Validation with the team
I joined the validation and feedback sessions with the rest of the team, using what we learned to refine flows and screens before delivery.
The outcome
Some UI components
The new version of Orbit was shipped successfully. It was an ambitious and rewarding project, covering the full experience from user flows to the final screens.
